2008:

T.Z. plays with singer Lila Ammons and Axel Zwingenberger, and produces the "Drumming 5.0" DVD with David Gazarov and tap dancer Bryan Berry.


2007:

T.Z. starts performing with piano player David Gazarov and plays concerts with Axel Zwingenberger.


2006:

The band "T-Easy-Be, 20 years after" tours with Helmar Marczinski (sax), Giorgio Crobu (guitar), Kalli Gerhards (bass) and special guest Iris Romen (voc). LYAMBIKO releases the CD "Love... And Then" on Sony/BMG and performs 71 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. T.Z. leaves LYAMBIKO at the end of 2006 – after 431 concerts since 2001.


2005:

„Lyambiko“ released on the Sony/BMG label. LYAMBIKO performs 63 concerts in Germany, USA, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Austria.


2004:

LYAMBIKO plays 56 concerts at venues such as Joe Zawinul's Birdland in Vienna, the Enghien Jazz Festival in France, and again in Boston and New York City at the Jazz Standard and at the small hall of the Berlin Philharmonie.


2003:

Axel and Torsten Zwingenberger play several concerts to celebrate their 30th stage anniversary. CD "Lyambiko – Shades Of Delight" released. First US tour of LYAMBIKO in New York, Boston, Miami and Rochester. Also concerts in Switzerland (Zurich, Chur, Arosa) and two sold-out shows at the Boston Regattabar. The band performs 110 concerts during the year.


2002:

LYAMBIKO performs 99 concerts in Germany, Czech Republic and Austria. Their first CD "Out of This Mood" released in Germany, USA, Japan, Portugal, Thailand…


2001:

Band called LYAMBIKO formed, featuring Sandy Reuter, alias "Lyambiko" (voc), Marque Lowenthal (piano/keyboards), Robin Draganic (bass) and Torsten Zwingenberger (dr/perc).


2000:

T.Z. plays mostly with Berlin-based jazz bands.


1999:

T.Z. plays 250 concerts and releases the CD "Boptists, It Was A Good Ride".


1998:

Release of the CD "Torsten Zwingenberger Drivin' You Crazy" with Ekkehard Woelk Trio, Boptists, Line For Lyons, Tal Balshai Trio and Jon Marks Traditional Jazz Trio.


1997:

Several new bands formed in Berlin.


1996:

Tour through nine West and Central African countries with Axel Zwingenberger. "Silvermine" CD released.


1995:

Concerts with saxophonist Red Holloway. Tribute band for Horace Silver "Silvermine" formed.


1994:

Release of the Torsten Zwingenberger Band's live CD "Open Sunroof".


1993:

Broadcasts with Axel Zwingenberger and two tours with the Torsten Zwingenberger Band.


1992:

Concert in New York at "Highlights in Jazz" with Jon Faddis, Doc Cheatham, Peter Bernstein and others. Performances with guitar player Costa Lukacz. Relaunch of the Torsten Zwingenberger Band with Fiete Felsch (sax), Matthias Baetzel (p/Hammond organ) and Kalli Gerhards (b).


1991:

Solo CD album "Drumkid" recorded and released. Tour with Axel Zwingenberger and piano legend Jay McShann, also with blues piano player and singer Champion Jack Dupree from New Orleans. Performances in Berlin and Vienna with guitar player Karl Ratzer and trumpeters Ingrid Jensen from USA and Till Broenner.


1990:

Concerts with Joe Pass. Tours with Axel Zwingenberger in England, Scotland, Ireland and Paris, France. Concert for "ZDF Jazzclub" on nationwide German TV.


1989:

CD recording and release and two tours with Plas Johnson in Germany. Tour with Harry Sweets Edison plus Plas Johnson, concerts with guitar virtuoso Joe Pass and clarinet player Buddy De Franco at the "Jazz in the Garden" festival in Berlin.


1988:

Tour in Germany and Switzerland with piano player and singer Lilette Jenkins; concerts with Harry Sweets Edison, saxophonist Plas Johnson and singer Jocelyn B. Smith; tour with UK saxophonist Danny Moss.


1987:

Tour with "Stars of Boogie Woogie" with piano players Big Joe Duskin, Axel Zwingenberger and others in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Record release tour of the album "Harry Sweets Edison meets Torsten Zwingenberger and Band" in Germany and Switzerland. Tour with US blues singer Big Time Sarah. Radio performances with Buddy Tate on Radio Hilversum (Holland).


1986:

Album with Buddy Tate released. Tours with trumpet player Harry Sweets Edison and Buddy Tate in Germany and the Netherlands. Radio performances with Harry Sweets Edison on Radio Hilversum (Holland).


1984:

"Torsten Zwingenberger's Swingburger" formed, LP releases, tours in Germany and Switzerland; several TV and radio performances.


1983:

Tour of North Africa (Morocco/Tunisia/Algeria) with Axel Zwingenberger. Live radio concert recording with saxophonist Buddy Tate.


1982:

Album recording with Axel Zwingenberger and trumpet player Joe Newman.


1981:

Record release: "Torsten Zwingenberger Trio featuring John Defferary"; TV and radio performances for the main north-German station.


1980:

Torsten Zwingenberger Trio formed with singer Regina Tischer and pianist Harold John Abstein. Several broadcasts and an LP recording with Martin Pyrker.


1979:

T.Z. moves to Berlin. Three tours with New Orleans Shakers in Denmark and Sweden. Radio show with Axel Zwingenberger for the WDR radio station in Cologne.


1978:

Recording session in Los Angeles with singer Big Joe Turner and Axel Zwingenberger on piano.


1977:

Live TV performance on "Spotlight" for the Austrian TV channel ORF with pianists Axel Zwingenberger, Martin Pyrker and Hans Georg Moeller. Their album remains in the Austrian Top Ten charts for 8 months. Further album recordings in Austria with Martin Pyrker and UK blues singer Jo Ann Kelly. Tours with the New Orleans Shakers in Denmark, Sweden and Germany.


1976:

Records his first album in Vienna, Austria, with pianists Axel Zwingenberger, Martin Pyrker and Hans Georg Moeller. Launches his first group, the New Orleans Shakers, with clarinet and saxophone player Thomas L'Étienne.


1974:

T.Z. switches from washboard to drums and appears live on TV for the first time.


1973:

first gig with a local jazz band at the "Barrett" in Hamburg. Also performs with his brother Axel, and later with local jazz groups in Hamburg


1972:

T.Z. starts practicing washboard percussions to old jazz records.


1967:

T.Z. has classical guitar lessons for eight years.
