BOOGIE WOOGIE BROTHERS: AXEL and TORSTEN ZWINGENBERGER (TEASY)

Thrilling, pulsating, in the right groove – the Boogie Woogie Brothers have been performing together since 1973 and play arrangements of well-known pieces as well as their own compositions, a mixture of boogie-woogie, blues, jazz and rolling beats.

Axel Zwingenberger, undisputed master of boogie-woogie piano, and his brother Torsten Zwingenberger, the distinctive jazz drummer, really have the groove down. Their boogie-woogie sound fascinates audiences with its infectious melodic and rhythmical elements pumping out that typical railroad sound. The magic works at every performance: Axel has hardly coaxed the first sounds out of the piano, and Torsten's brushes have hardly just started gliding softly over the drum skins – yet the audience are already raving. Anyone who has seen one of the brothers' boogie concerts knows why! Boogie Woogie is a twelve-bar antidepressant which immediately puts the audience in a good mood. The sound not only hangs together perfectly, it blows you away! Axel's musical partners have included Blues artists such as Sippie Wallace and Lloyd Glenn or big-band legend Lionel Hampton. Torsten has teamed up with such jazz heroes as Harry Sweet Edison, Buddy Tate, Joe Pass and many others. Together, they have played with Big Joe Turner, Champion Jack Dupree and Jay McShann – to name but a few.
