"TEASY Swing Out Best"
This group is an exciting encounter of Berlin and Hamburg jazz musicians. The renowned, exceptional drummer Torsten Zwingenberger (pseudonym TEASY) meets three virtuoso colleagues: Ralph Reichert (sax), Patrick Farrant (guitar) and Giorgi Kiknadze (bass). They join for a hot and swinging session with pieces from the American Songbook and compositions of their own. "Teasy" presents his percussion technique – known as Drumming 5.0 – which he has developed over the last few years. Among other things he has combined the drum kit with percussion instruments; he temporarily operates five foot pedals simultaneously, plays with three sticks in two hands, and generates finely intertwined rhythmical lines.

BOOGIE WOOGIE BROTHERS: AXEL and TORSTEN ZWINGENBERGER (TEASY)
Thrilling, pulsating, in the right groove – the Boogie Woogie Brothers have been performing together since 1973 and play arrangements of well-known pieces as well as their own compositions, a mixture of boogie-woogie, blues, jazz and rolling beats. Axel Zwingenberger, undisputed master of boogie-woogie piano, and his brother Torsten Zwingenberger, the distinctive jazz drummer, really have the groove down. Their boogie-woogie sound fascinates audiences with its infectious melodic and rhythmical elements pumping out that typical railroad sound. The magic works at every performance: Axel has hardly coaxed the first sounds out of the piano, and Torsten's brushes have hardly just started gliding softly over the drum skins – yet the audience are already raving. Anyone who has seen one of the brothers' boogie concerts knows why! Boogie Woogie is a twelve-bar antidepressant which immediately puts the audience in a good mood. The sound not only hangs together perfectly, it blows you away! Axel's musical partners have included Blues artists such as Sippie Wallace and Lloyd Glenn or big-band legend Lionel Hampton. Torsten has teamed up with such jazz heroes as Harry Sweet Edison, Buddy Tate, Joe Pass and many others. Together, they have played with Big Joe Turner, Champion Jack Dupree and Jay McShann – to name but a few.
New Orleans Shakers
With the „New Orleans Shakers“ Torsten Zwingenberger is showing once more that he is well at home in different styles of jazz. Together with Thomas l’Etienne and Kurt Tomm Torsten founded the band way back in 1977, three years before he started getting involved in other musical projects. The repertoire of the group embraced tunes from the Golden Age of Jazz, tunes characterized by their catching simplicity and sincerity. Spontaneously the group decided to reunite in 2009. Fully aware of the luscious erotic connotations of early jazz Thomas l’Etienne knows that jazz is only authentic when it is played with a certain amount of dirtiness. Instead of endorsing an academic approach or trying to impress by velocity Thomas aims for melodious sensuality. There is a certain element of boldness prevailing when the band is mixing elements of the traditional New Orleans jazz with different Caribbean styles in a competent and entertaining crossover. Here again Torsten Zwingenberger is impressing the listener with his virtuoso drum technique “Drumming 5.0.” responsible for the bouncing swing feeling.
